Step 1 FEEL

 Power fluctuation in locality.  Lack of Awareness regarding Cyber Safety.  First generation English learner.

Problem selected -Lack of Awareness regarding Cyber Safety Nowadays, everyone is using the Internet but the children do not know how to be safe online and fall into trouble. So we have decided to make the students and their parents aware of the consequences that may befall if they are not careful while using Internet.

Teenagers were affected by the problem. They make friends and chat with strangers online, post their photographs, without reading terms and conditions of any site click on allow buttons etc. So we decided to make them aware of the do’s and don’ts when online.

Step 2 Imagine

• Prepare prom plates and distribute in nearby area of School • Show Cyber Safety videos to the Students of our Project School • Conduct Cyber Safety Awareness Campaign

Solution Selected - Cyber Safety Awareness Campaign The other ideas were not selected because: • Some will read the prom plates and others will not. • Only showing video will not be so effective. • But if we address the people, then we can talk and make them understand, by using audio visual aids, that while using Internet some safety measures must be followed.

Step 3DO

Brainstorming was done and emerging ideas listed down. Our plan: • Cyber Safety tips in Assembly • Slogan Writing Competition • Workshop for the Students and Parents of Our School • Workshop for Hindi medium Project School • Nukkad Natak to focus on results of Cyber Crime and Cyber safety • Display Cyber Tips on Bulletin Board • Display Cyber Safety tips in computer screen in Computer Laboratory

Students and parents were taken aback as they were not aware of how they could be trapped while on social network.

More than a 1000.

“It is a Good initiative.” “Thanks for making us aware of Cyber Safety.”

We convinced our parents to allow us to do this project. Some students were showing disinterest towards the activities like Slogan Writing competitions, Cyber Safety Quiz etc. Solution - Appreciation for active participation in activities in the form of Positive comments in diary, name in chalk Board etc.
